Shuaib City

The road from Harran to Han el-Ba’rür Caravansaray reaches to Özkent Village of Harran (Shuaib City Ruins) on the to Northeast. The present archeological ruins are assumed to belong to Roman Period. The city is partly surrounded with rampart. Structures made of face stone are built on the many sepulchre in the city centre.  Nearly all of those structures fell down but some walls and ruins of groundworks survive until today.

People believe that Prophet Shuaib lived in this city and the city takes its name from the prophet. A cave in the ruins is visited by people as the location of Prophet Shuaib.
